Yes, you can tone down a color by adding black — but it often leaves the color looking flat and lifeless. Instead, try this: use the color’s complement to desaturate it. For example, to tone down blue, add a touch of orange. You’ll get a beautifully muted blue that still feels rich and alive. 🎨 It’s one of my favorite color hacks.
